Why are orders placed for products that are out of stock?

Check the following settings.

Advanced Mode
1. Out-of-stock feature

1)Go to [Products>Products>Product list] on your admin page, find the relevant product and click on its name to open the editing page.

2) In the [Options/Inventory] tab, make sure “Yes” is chosen for [Track inventory] and the checkbox is checked for “Enable out of stock icon”.

- Note that even if you chose “Yes” for [Track inventory], products are not automatically marked as “out of stock” if you have not checked the “Enable out of stock icon” option.

2. Stock deduction basis

1)Go to [Products>Products>Product list] on your admin page, find the relevant product and click on its name to open the editing page.

2) In the [Options/Inventory] tab, make sure “Yes” is selected for [Track inventory] and check whether you chose to deduct stock “Upon payment.”

- It is recommended you choose “Upon order” because if you choose “Upon payment”, stock is deducted based on the actual payments.

3. Stock recovery in case of cancellations

1) Go to [My Store>Store setup>General settings>Orders (tab)] on your admin page.

2) In the [Payment/Refund/Return settings] section, check whether “General>Automatically recover” is chosen for the [Recover stock for a canceled/returned item] field. If that is the case, items that are out of stock can be ordered if there is a cancellation/return.

Go to [Orders>Fulfillment>All orders] and search for the relevant order, then check whether the relevant product has been canceled/returned.
